Since October 2000 we participate at several film contests. The purpose is to improve and to refine our own critical faculty which also gives an influence to the quality of the films.
During DAFF 2008 (German Film Festival of BDFA) the film “Das Geheimnis von Tulamben” was awarded in the category of non-commercial films. 61 films were qualified to participate at this most important film contest in Germany. The films were presented to public viewers during May 1 - 3, 2008 in Hanau.
The 6th. International Underwater Film Contest “Seestern 2007” is organized by the BDFA (Association of German Film Authors), the Board of the international trade fair “Boot” in Duesseldorf, the travel agency for Scuba Diving holidays “Schoener Tauchen” and the German magazin for Scuba Divers “Unterwasser”. Despite strong competition (90 films) the film “Das Geheimnis von Tulamben” (The secret of Tulamben) achieved 5th. place with the award Top Ten and is forwarded to the German contest DAFF 2008, the largest German Film Festival. The announcement of winners and the presentation of awards took place at the trade fair “Boot 2008” in Duesseldorf.
in March 2007 the film “Small Miracles” was awarded with the 2nd place in the category “Professional Short Films” at the “3rd International Eastern Mediterranean Underwater Film Festival” in Famagusta/Cyprus. The festival is organised and realised by the EMU (Eastern Mediterranean University). 57 films from 21 countries were competing in this contest.
In December 2006 the film “The secret of Tulamben” was given a special award at the “10th International Underwater Film Festival Belgrade” in Serbia, one of the largest European underwater film festivals and member of EUIFA. To receive this award was a great honor due to very strong competition with 123 movies competing.
In October 2006 at HAFF (Film Festival of Hessen), a contest of BDFA (Association of German Film Authors) the film “Well Disguised (Gut getarnt)” was awarded with the 2nd. prize.
In October 2006, the film “Well Disguised (Gut getarnt)” achieved the 4th. prize in the overall placings and the 2nd. place in the state wide contest (Hesse).
In October 2006 at a contest of the BDFA (Association of German Film Authors) the film “Well Disguised (Gut getarnt)” won 1st. position and was forwarded to the HAFF (Film Festival of Hessen).
In May 2006 at the international underwater film contest “Il Mare a Milano”, the film “Seltene Begegnung” achieved 2nd. place and was rewarded with a 1 week dive safari to the Farasan Banks in Saudia Arabia.
In October 2005 at the BDFA (Association of German Film Authors) film contest HAFF (Film Festival of Hessen), the film “Bula Fiji” was awarded the 3rd. place.
In October 2005 at a contest of the BDFA (Association of German Film Authors) the film “Bula Fiji” reached the 2nd. place and was forwarded on to the HAFF (Film Festival of Hessen).
In April 2005 at the National Film Festival of Wildlife and Nature Films (Bundesfilmfestival Tier- und Naturfilm) organized by the BDFA (Association of German Film Authors) the film “Kleine Wunder” won the 3rd. prize and was awarded the bronze medal.
In November 2004 at the HAFF, a contest of the BDFA (Association of German Film Authors), the film “Kleine Wunder” won the 2nd prize.
In October 2004, the film “Kleine Wunder” achieved the 6th. prize in the overall placings and the 1st prize in the national contest (Hesse).

In March 2004 at HAFF, a contest of the BDFA (Association of German Film Authors) the film “Tauchsafari in der Andamanensee” won the 3rd prize.

In January 2004 at an internal contest of the videofilmer club “Videofilmer Hanau e.V.” the film “Tauchsafari in der Andamanensee” won the 1. prize.

In October 2002 at the contest “Unterwasser Foto & Video Festival” the film “Tauchsafari in der Andamanensee” achieved the 3rd position.
The Unterwasser Foto & Video Festival is one of the most important contests in the state of Hesse, Germany. It is organized by the Photo and Video Department of HTSV (Organization of Scuba Divers in Hesse, related to VDST/CMAS). This contest is to be held every 2 years and was my first video contest.
